Nightlight Booking Policies

Booking a Show

There are two ways to submit a request to book at show at The Nightlight:

Drop off a press kit/demo at The Nightlight during business hours. Put “Attention: Booking” on the submission.
Mail a press kit/demo to The Nightlight, PO Box 189, Bellingham, WA 98225.

Booking requests should not be made by phone or in person. Also, while mp3s may be convenient, The Nightlight generally requires the submission of an actual press kit.

The Nightlight receives a lot of booking requests and press kits. While we listen to everything that we receive, sometimes it takes a little while. In general, The Nightlight typically books shows 2-4 months out.

If The Nightlight is interested in booking your act, we will contact you. Multiple follow-up phone calls and emails will not be returned and will not increase the chances of success.

The Nightlight expects and requests that artists do not play local dates within 3 weeks prior to and after their show at The Nightlight. Failure to respect this request will, in all likelihood, adversely affect future booking opportunities.

Once a Show Is Booked

All shows must be advanced thru The Nightlight’s Production Manager, Rich Canut. Rich’s contact information will be provided once your show is booked. When possible, shows should be advanced 2-3 weeks prior to the day of show.

Soundcheck is required for all performances. Absent extenuating circumstances and advance notice, failure to soundcheck may result in the cancellation of your show.

All special requests, such as audio and video recordings and multimedia production, must be addressed at least 2 weeks in advance of the day of show. In some cases, origination fees or production expenses may apply.

Self-Promotion

The Nightlight expects local and, in most cases, regional talent to heavily promote their show at The Nightlight. Future booking opportunities depend, in large part, on the success of your local draw. If your draw is weak, chances are you won’t be back until it improves.

All promotional materials must be approved by The Nightlight before distribution or publication. When distributing promotional materials, please respect all local laws governing flyers, handbills, posters, etc.
